You can only find the BlueHDi 75 diesel engine in early used Rifter models because it was a short-lived model that was discontinued by 2019. Here, they stated that they could achieve 68.9 mpg on the now-defunct NEDC cycle (67.3 mpg for vehicles equipped with Grip Control and on different tires), so we would be very cautious about these numbers.

If you're purchasing new, the BlueHDi 100 is expected to get between 42 and 50.6 mpg on the most recent WLTP system, while the most potent BlueHDi 130 diesel is expected to get between 45.2 and 50.1 mpg. Similar 45.1–50.3 mpg are shown in the EAT8-equipped BlueHDi 130's figures.

The claimed average fuel consumption achieves a higher minimum mpg figure despite the increased performance, and we believe that's because the increased power and torque make cruising at low speeds easier. This will be aided by having an additional sixth gear, but the stated numbers should also be more achievable during ownership because the engine won't need to work as hard to reach speed.

Depending on the wheel size, the BlueHDi 75 diesel engine emits 109–111g/km of CO2, whereas the BlueHDi 100 engine produces 112-115g/km, depending on specification. If you choose the Long version, the creep rate increases to 113–117g/km. The smaller Standard body form was the only one offered for the BlueHDi 75.

With the manual gearbox, the most potent BlueHDi 130 generates between 113 and 115g/km, and with the eight-speed automatic, between 113 and 114g/km. On the Long version, this increases to 116–118g/km and 117–119g/km, respectively. The CO2 emissions of the 1.2-litre PureTech 110 petrol engine are 123g/km. Select the Long version, which has a maximum weight of 127g/km.
