The hybrid car has a brand-new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that produces 136 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a tiny 0.9-kWh battery that is located under the passenger seat. With a new six-speed dual shift clutch gearbox, the entire vehicle can reach 62 mph in 11.3 seconds. The WLTP combined fuel consumption figures are 44.6-52.5 mpg, with a maximum speed of 123 mph.

With the help of a seven-speed gearbox, the plug-in hybrid converts a 1.6-litre ICE into 195 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The WLTP test results show that Mpg rises to a fantastic-on-paper-but-probably-impossible-to-achieve 212.7-356.2mpg.

Peugeot 5008 2016-2023

The Peugeot 5008 was only available with traditional petrol and diesel engines until August 2023. The 1.5-litre diesel engine provides superior miles per gallon (mpg) over the other, particularly when travelling long distances. On paper, the 1.2-litre gasoline isn't all that far behind, but under hard acceleration, it will suffer more. This is probably because using lots of revs is necessary if you want to move faster.

Testing has shown that, in mixed driving, the diesel returns approximately 45 mpg compared to the petrol's 35 mpg. This represents a difference of about 10 mpg.
