The ZS is only offered as a complete hybrid at launch, with a petrol engine and a small battery to enable limited electric running; a normal petrol engine will be added later. An SUV built on the pure electric architecture of the MG4 hatchback will subtly replace the MG ZS EV. The hybrid's 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, 102-hp gasoline engine is enhanced by a 136-hp electric motor. In a quick 8.7 seconds, they generate 196 horsepower to go from 0 to 62 mph.

On the road, it typically seems that powerful, with a noticeable boost in performance when both power sources contribute. However, you are constrained by the battery's reserves. It is depleted by prolonged, intense acceleration, which makes the acceleration feel less strong. Be careful when driving, and it's not a problem.
