This popular French manufacturer have a huge amount of experience when it comes to designing and building small compact cars which all started with the triumph of the legendary duck.
The French continued to build upon this reputation in 2005 when they revealed the first generation of the Citroen C1 at the Geneva Motor Show. The C1 was marketed as Citroens new entry level car and aimed at those people who love the Citroen brand but for whom the C2 or C3 was too large and expensive.
Depending on the C1 model you can expect the engine to produce between 67-80bhp and go from 0 - 60mph in 10.6 - 16.6 secs. Generally speaking the fuel economy is very good with the small engines boasting up to 58.9mpg. You will not only save on fuel with the C1 but also on the insurance (group 6-13) and the road tax which is cheap compared to larger models.
The fuel consumption of the Citroen C1 is shown below in both MPG (Miles Per Gallon) and km/L (Kilometers Per Litre). Both of these figures show you how far that particular Citroen C1 variant can travel for every gallon (4.55 litres) and every litre (1000ml) of fuel. The higher the MPG or km/L value, the more economical the car is and the cheaper it will be to run. As well as providing the combined figures, we also give you the fuel consumption you can expect from a Citroen C1 in urban / city driving conditions as well as what can be expected on the open highway / motorway.

Citroen C1 Fuel Consumption
Knowing the real fuel consumption (sometimes called 'Real MPG' or 'Real km/L) of your Citroen C1 is critical because it is shows the actual fuel efficiency you are getting from the car. It shows you the true MPG or km/L you are getting from your Citroen C1 from driving in the real world, rather than the figures provided by the manufacturer. Calculating both the fuel economy of your car is as easy as 1-2-3.. Use our simple Fuel Efficiency Calculator to help easily work this out.
The 'real fuel consumption' shows you the amount of fuel your Citroen C1 is consuming to travel a fixed distance. This is normally shown as L/100km. This figure shows you the amount of fuel consumed in litres for every 100kms travelled. This is the most commonly used figure for showing the fuel consumption of a vehicle. The formula to calculate it is:
(Litres of fuel used X 100) / Kilometers travelled = L/km.
